SureSkills in the Press > SureSkills seals deal for council training

Belfast Telegraph, Tuesday 24 September 2002

BELFAST-based IT professional services and training organisation SureSkills has secured a lucrative deal with Ulster's councils.

The company has just been selected as the preferred technical training provider for Northern Ireland's local government IT officers and their staff. Gemma Morgan, SureSkills' corporate account manager for local government, said the agreement will further strengthen the relationship between SureSkills and the province's 26 councils. "IT training is essential for the continued development of staff in any organisation and Northern Ireland's local councils are particularly proactive with this matter," she said.

The company pointed out that strategic partnerships with organisations such as Microsoft, Lotus, Dell and Citrix had enabled it to deliver "the best solutions the industry has to offer". SureSkills will be responsible for ongoing training of the councils' IT staff over the next year. David Moore, chairman of the IT Officers Group within local government in Ulster, said the Belfast firm had been appointed as the preferred technical training provider because its programmes to date had been a great success. "We have developed a strong relationship with SureSkills as they have assisted us in numerous aspects of IT, from exam preparation to technical forums," he said.
