FETAC Level 6 Train the Trainer Public Programme

This highly interactive 4 day programme is ideal for new trainers that are responsible for delivery of training or for Training / HR Managers that are looking to refresh their expertise in planning, designing and the management of the training function. It provides the necessary tools to develop their training skills and competencies needed to handle training activities professionally.

The workshop is tailored to meet the specific requirements of the attendees. It is an interactive workshop peppered with exercises and frameworks that will allow participants to apply the information covered to their specific situation. In addition participants get the opportunity to put their new found skills into practice in a learning environment.

 

Train the Trainer - Programme Aims:

·         Understand the key principles of learning

·         Understand the 4 different styles of learning

·         Understand the functions and processes of learning and training

·         Evaluate different approaches to training

·         Appreciate the importance of training on an individual, social and economic level

Yanky Fachler – “Cutzpah - Unlocking the Creative Mind in 2011”

Yanky delivers a range of soft skills training for SureSkills, including communication skills, business 

writing skills, presentation skills, assertiveness, chairing a meeting skills, handling difficult people, 

customer service, and train the trainer. Yanky is also a broadcaster, content creator and corporate 

trainer, and he has delivered motivational addresses to audiences all over the world. He is Chief 

Learning Officer of Bookbuzz Executive Development, Chief Editor at The Varsity Press, and author 

of several books including Fire in the Belly, Bookbuzz Insights 2011, and Chutzpah: Unblocking the 

maverick mindset for success. Yanky delivers keynotes, seminars and masterclasses to corporations, 

business events, and Business Start audiences.

 

PROCESS:

Bill Heffernan – “With the Right Process anything is Possible in 2011”

Bill Heffernan is Principle Service Management Consultant for SureSkills. He has more than 20 years 

of Service Management experience, planning and implementing IT service improvement initiatives 

in both the public and private sectors. Bill Heffernan’s expertise includes establishing and optimising 

best practice IT Service Management processes, developing and delivering Managed IT Services and 

conducting IT Service Delivery Gap Analysis. He also has extensive knowledge of development and 

delivery of Strategic, Tactical and Operational service improvement initiatives. 

Bill also has extensive programme and project management experience.  He developed 

the programme and project management method for a commercial project management organisation 

and managed the team of project managers.  Bill has managed programmes and projects ranging 

from IT projects, business change and premises fit-out.  Project scales ranged from €20,000 to €6m 

projects and significant programmes including the merger of two hedge fund companies. He is fully 

accredited in ITIL® Managers (v2) and ITIL® Expert (v3) curriculums and provides strategic and 

tactical consulting as well as ITIL® training for all levels of management.  He is PRINCE2 practitioner 

accredited. 

 

Aidan Burke, Director of Operations, Art’s Council 

 “Using Process to Make Things Happen”

Aidan Burke is a graduate of NUI Galway. He has held a variety of posts in US multinationals before 

joining the Arts Council in 2008.  Previous to the Arts Council he worked for 13 years in Xilinx Ireland.  

Throughout his time there he was responsible for the set up of the customer service function as well 

as account management roles supporting major telecoms customers.  His role in the Arts Council 

involved the set up of the Operations team which covers everything from ICT, Grants Processing, HR, 

Information & Research as well as Facilities and Board secretariat.

Kevin Reid (Technical Manager) Senior Solution Architect (SA) – 

“Technology – the Great Enabler for Business Goals in 2011”

Kevin Reid has worked for SureSkills for over 9 years and has designed, lead and delivered some 

of the largest infrastructure projects within Ireland covering a variety of technologies. His current 

role covers technical presales across the core technology areas along with technical delivery and 

project management. Kevin specializes in data management solutions and Microsoft Infrastructure 

products.
