Dell and SureSkills have announced joint efforts to provide an end-to-end Windows 2000 certificate-based VPN wireless LAN solution for the Irish corporate market. Under the terms of the agreement, Dell will offer the award-winning Dell PowerEdgeTM 2500 server series, the Dell TrueMobileTM brand of wireless products, including access points, base stations and wireless LAN adapters, and Microsoft® Windows® 2000 server software - combined with expert consultancy and installation services delivered by SureSkills.
"Customers in Ireland - ranging from educational institutions to large businesses - clearly understand the advantages of wireless networking. However, we know from extensive research and from our one to one discussions with customers that security continues to be a concern. With the introduction of this VPN-based solution, Dell turns that concern on its head, so that customers can get on with the job of securely enjoying the freedom and flexibility that wireless brings ", commented Greg Tierney, Product Marketing Manager, Dell Ireland, Corporate Sales Division.
"In short, Dell has created the right mix of integrated products and partnerships to help our corporate customers easily evolve from a fixed to a secure, wireless network environment".
Alan Stock, Technical Director at SureSkills welcomed the initiative: "By harnessing the native security capabilities of Windows 2000 and Windows XP, we can deliver all the flexibility of wireless connectivity with a level of security that exceeds the traditional network, both in terms of authenticating users and transmitting data at surprisingly low costs".
