A recent whitepaper examined how VMware virtualisation software reduces Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in server environments and provides almost immediate Return On Investment (ROI). The paper describes commonly used TCO models and looks at several case studies that apply TCO models to virtualisation projects. According to the paper, VMware customers across the board have experienced significant TCO savings as a result of their VMware virtualisation investments. The customers profiled in this paper offer examples of how virtualisation software can reduce the costs of operating a server environment.
